Frequently Asked Questions > Finances > Will Carlisle participate in the funding of this project?

  • The Town of Carlisle as a municipal entity is not sharing in the cost of the new fields, except to the extent that the land being dedicated to these fields is owned by the Concord-Carlisle Regional School District, which is in part financed with Carlisle tax dollars.
  • Carlisle has itself made substantial capital investments in fields -- particularly at the Banta-Davis complex -- over the last 10 years, which have benefitted Concord residents.  In addition, the Town of Carlisle is attempting to obtain authorization from its voters to build additional fields, for use by combined Concord-Carlisle youth sports teams.
  • Carlisle residents whose children play in Concord-Carlisle teams are helping to pay for the fields indirectly through payment of user fees imposed by each of the sports leagues.

  • Finally, we hope and expect that Carlisle families will participate in the private funding programs for these fields, which benefit high school, youth, and adult sports involving both communities; in fact, some Carlisle families have already made substantial donations to the project.
