Frequently Asked Questions > Project Location > Were any other locations looked at before the High School site was selected?
- The hillside site at Concord-Carlisle High School was chosen and confirmed as the best and only realistic option after a search process since the 1990's that included the review of 24 other sites:
- Early site alternatives (1995-2000) included Harrington Farm, Virginia Road, Strawberry Hill, Mattison Field, the Hebb land and the Town Landfill.
- The 2003 Playing Fields Study assessed options at Emerson, South Meadow, Ripley, Cushing, Cousins, Rideout, Sanborn, Thoreau, Willard, and CCHS.
- During 2005-2006, eight additional sites were considered, including Burke, Ammendolia, White Row, the Wastewater Plant, the Albano land, Wright Road (Northeast Correctional), the Scimone land, and the Concord Ice Company.
- Details of this search process is included in the presentation titled "The Search for Concord-Carlisle Fields Sites," which may be viewed by clicking here.
