  • The removal of 8 ½ acres of forests is both a regrettable and inevitable consequence of this project
  • This land was purchased for use by the school in 1955. It is the school committee’s recommendation to use this land for playing fields.
  • Nevertheless, the Town and Friends of CC Playing Fields feel a duty to help mitigate the loss of these woods
  • A separate reforestation initiative will seek to plant saplings (ideally on a one-to-one basis) in other town locations. Funding for this initiative is well underway.
