Frequently Asked Questions > Project Location > Why should the fields be built at the High School?
- The land where the fields are contemplated was purchased in 1955 “for school uses”
- This location gives Concord the best “bang for its buck”
- No land purchase necessary
- Utilities and related infrastructure are already in place
- Additional parking can be used by school even when fields aren’t used
- The fields would be on high ground, 50 feet above the water table – this is rare in Concord!
- Only at the High School will it be possible to have these new fields used during the school day for gym classes, immediately after school for interscholastic and intramural sports; and during nights and weekends for community recreation.
