Frequently Asked Questions > Project Location > Won’t the Brister’s Hill abutters be adversely affected by light spill?
- The project budget includes a state of the art lighting system that will minimize vertical light spill to a range of 0.08 to 0.10 candlelights within 150 feet of the edge of the fields
- For comparison's sake, a full moon produces 0.40 candlelights – four times more than the proposed lighting system
- Furthermore, the above figures assume an unobstructed view of the fields at level grade, which is hardly the case; the abutters’ residences will be screened by existing and newly planted trees and the fields are several feet below grade, so actual light spillage will be much less than the 0.08 to 0.10 candlelight "worst case" scenario above.
