Building New Athletic Fields for the Concord-Carlisle Community

Everyone's invited and encouraged to attend!
Mark your calendars -- the brand-new multi-purpose fields on the hill at Concord-Carlisle High School are scheduled to hold their grand opening on June 8, 2008, from noon to 4pm. The official ribbon cutting is at 2pm.
There will many 30 minute games played on one of the new fields while pass punt and kick, home run derby, radar guns for throwing and kicking, dunk tank, face painting and much more is ongoing on the other turf field and in the parking lot.
Drawings for more than 2 dozen spectacular raffle items will be held throughout the day. Raffle tickets are being sold by most Concord-Carlisle Youth Sports participants (hint: kids who sell at least 10 tickets are entered to win one of four iPod Touches)...so please support the fields by buying as many tickets as you can!

Background
On Tuesday, April 24th, 2007, the Town Meeting of Concord, Massachusetts, by a two-thirds affirmative vote, approved town and Community Preservation Act funding to match more than $2 million in private donations being raised (more than 60% of which is already committed) for a comprehensive six-field athletic field development program for the Concord community. The funding of these fields was affirmed by an overwhelming vote of a Special Town Meeting on June 13th, 2007.
As a result of this widespread community support, our community will by 2009 be blessed with:
- two new multi-purpose playing fields on the property of Concord-Carlisle High School for soccer, lacrosse, and football;
- two new baseball fields (60- and 90-foot diamonds);
- an additional multi-purpose grass field; and
- conversion of an existing baseball field for a first-rate softball facility.
A new 60-foot baseball diamond and a new 90-foot diamond are part of the plan, as well as a redesigned softball field.On this website, you'll be able to:
